MISSION
ASKA Hotels operates with an amateur spirit and a professional approach to contribute to the development of our country’s tourism image.
We are committed to providing our guests and employees with a peaceful, family-oriented environment and delivering service excellence in line with this principle.
VALUES
As ASKA Hotels, within the system we have established to prioritize the needs and expectations of our guests and stakeholders, strengthen guest trust, progress toward institutionalization, ensure effective service planning, resolve issues promptly, and enhance employee motivation and enthusiasm in order to deliver the right service to our guests:
Our Corporate Responsibilities
Being Environmentally Responsible
Our primary objective is to conduct activities that contribute positively to environmental protection and the preservation of cultural heritage in the regions where we operate—and wherever possible beyond—while keeping our environmental impacts under control.
Supporting the Local Community
We prioritize employing personnel from the local community. Through the multiplier effect of the economy, we contribute to revitalizing the local economy by supporting regional employment. At the same time, we help local residents remain in their region rather than seeking employment opportunities elsewhere.
Sustainable Tourism
Meeting the needs of our guests and the local community with consideration for future generations, protecting natural resources and wildlife, ensuring energy and water conservation, and improving quality of life form the foundation of our sustainability efforts.
Creating Opportunities
We provide internship opportunities for tourism students to gain professional experience.
We support our employees through training programs and career management initiatives.
Wherever possible, we aim to develop our own employees, promote them to higher positions, and grow together as an organization.
We set specific targets to increase female employment and create equal opportunities within our workforce.
Together with all our employees, delivering the highest quality service by prioritizing guest satisfaction above all else constitutes the primary objective of our hotels. In line with this objective:
Legal Compliance
ASKA Hotels adopts full compliance with all applicable legal requirements in all product and service processes as a fundamental principle.
Employee Safety and Investment in People
Our employees are our most valuable asset.
To ensure a safe working environment at ASKA Hotels, every employee is responsible for fulfilling their duties within the limits of their authority. Protecting all our employees and guests against potential risks is among our highest priorities. Accordingly, we commit to:
Guest Satisfaction – Guest Safety – Guest Focus
As ASKA Hotels, in order to ensure that our guests enjoy a pleasant, peaceful, and safe holiday experience—from the reservation stage through post-stay—we commit, within the framework of our obligations to legal authorities and supplier companies, to handle all special requests and complaints free of charge and with due diligence:
Respect for the Environment
We commit to:
Energy Efficiency
ASKA Hotels adopts the principle of utilizing energy resources in the most efficient manner and ensuring continuous improvement in energy performance and efficiency.
Food Safety – Hygiene
As ASKA Hotels, we commit to:
Our Investors and Business Partners
We work to accurately identify the expectations and requirements of our investors—who provide a peaceful and safe working environment for employees—and our business partners with whom we share common goals.
We strive to deliver services that exceed those of our competitors while maintaining optimal cost efficiency.
Support for the Local Economy and Sustainable Procurement Practices
We recognize our contribution to the local economy; therefore, we prioritize selecting local suppliers and sourcing raw materials from local companies.
In support of sustainable tourism, we adopt environmentally friendly procurement practices that minimize energy consumption, water usage, and waste generation.
Child Abuse and Harassment
We believe that protecting children is a shared responsibility.
We acknowledge that safeguarding child welfare and protecting children from all forms of harm is of utmost importance.
We recognize that ensuring all children within our sphere of influence are protected from physical and psychological abuse is a fundamental duty.
In light of these principles, our hotels—operating in both national and international markets—demonstrate the determination required to remain industry leaders, continuously improve their systems, and allocate the necessary resources to achieve excellence.
Sustainable tourism is more than merely mitigating negative impacts. It represents:
In order to be respected globally, we act with respect toward the environment and our planet.
Without compromising the comfort of our guests, we aim to control water, electricity, energy, chemical usage, and solid waste amounts, and to minimize potential harm to the environment and natural resources.
In line with sustainable tourism principles, the measures we have implemented have reduced natural resource consumption and updated operational practices to minimize—and where possible eliminate—damage to soil, water, and air.
Some of our sustainable tourism practices within our hotel include:
WASTE MANAGEMENT
Recyclable Waste
Waste management is a systematic approach that includes waste reduction at its source, separation according to characteristics, collection, storage, recycling, transportation, disposal, post-disposal monitoring, and related processes.
Within the Waste Management System implemented at ASKA Hotels, our primary objective is to reduce the amount of waste generated, ensure environmentally responsible disposal with minimal impact, and recover recyclable materials for reuse.
In our hotels, environmental awareness information has been included in guest brochures, and guests are encouraged to support our sustainability efforts.
Our personnel are provided with awareness training on the importance of waste segregation, and waste sorting practices are monitored by the respective departments.
In addition, through the warning labels posted in the restrooms located in common areas, we inform and remind users that toilet paper should be disposed of in waste bins rather than flushed down the toilet, for the benefit of the environment and our facility.
Sufficient waste bins have been placed throughout the facility to enable our guests to separate their waste appropriately.
We collaborate with authorized recycling companies for the proper recycling of the segregated waste and ensure regular monitoring and follow-up of the entire process.
Separate bins for each type of recyclable waste have been placed in all departments to ensure proper collection and recycling. The importance of waste segregation is continuously emphasized to our personnel.
Water dispensers equipped with purification systems have been installed in the staff cafeteria, fitness area, and Turkish bath, thereby reducing the consumption of large bottled water containers.
In order to minimize packaging waste, bulk-packaged products (such as large boxes and tubs) are purchased instead of single-use breakfast items.
Refillable soap dispensers are used in the general areas of our hotel.
Through staff awareness training, the disposal of used oils into drains has been prevented. With the support of grease traps, waste oils are collected and properly disposed of. Waste frying oils are stored in the designated waste oil collection depot and delivered for appropriate disposal.
Since commencing operations in 2014, ASKA Hotels has been separating recyclable materials. We are proud to share our recycling figures for the years 2021–2022–2023.
Surplus Food
Leftover food is regularly donated to Kurşunlu Sokak Hayvanları Derneği.
Hazardous Waste
To ensure that hazardous waste generated in our hotels is disposed of without harming the environment, such waste is collected and labeled under appropriate conditions in designated hazardous waste storage rooms within each department. It is then delivered to licensed companies for disposal or recovery in compliance with legal regulations.
Waste battery collection boxes are available at various locations within the hotel to prevent environmental harm.
In 2023, a total of 1,517 kg of hazardous waste was delivered to licensed companies from our hotels. We ensure the proper collection and disposal of hazardous waste and provide regular training to our personnel to raise awareness on this matter.
In 2022 and 2023, “Recycling and Waste Segregation” and “Chemical Usage Training” were provided by qualified experts in the field.
For 2023, our objective is to ensure that all hazardous waste generated in our hotel is properly collected in the designated hazardous waste storage area without being mixed with other waste streams and delivered to licensed companies for appropriate disposal. At the same time, we aim to implement activities that will minimize the amount of hazardous waste generated.
We closely monitor our hazardous waste quantities. We make every effort to ensure that the materials we use do not contain hazardous substances wherever possible, and where such substances are present, we ensure their proper and compliant disposal.
CHEMICAL USAGE
Chemical substances are materials that facilitate our daily lives and are widely used in many areas; however, they may also lead to adverse effects if not managed properly. In our facilities, chemicals are used in maintenance-repair and cleaning activities.
Environmentally conscious cleaning means achieving hygienic standards while minimizing potential negative impacts on human health and the environment. Environmental harm can be reduced not only by selecting environmentally compatible cleaning products but also by using them economically and ensuring correct dosage. In this way, the overall environmental impact of chemicals can be significantly minimized.
Our priority is to ensure that all chemicals used are approved, properly labeled, and supplied in suitable packaging, and that the relevant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are available. The purchasing department ensures that employees who will use these chemicals are trained in accordance with the information provided in the SDS, including usage quantities and methods, personal protective equipment requirements, and the measures to be taken under the “Emergency Procedures for Chemical Spills.”
Our chemical storage areas are designed with the necessary precautions against potential leakage, spills, or similar risks that may harm the environment. Chemicals are stored in compliance with their classification, the manufacturer’s storage instructions, and applicable regulations.
We cooperate with authorized companies for the safe disposal of chemicals and monitor the management of chemical waste.
We regularly monitor our chemical consumption levels and provide staff training to prevent unnecessary or improper use. Wherever possible, concentrated products are preferred to reduce overall consumption.
In our swimming pools, automatic dosing systems are used to ensure hygienic conditions while applying the minimum required amount of chemicals.
We ensure that the pest control company from which we procure services uses products that do not pose risks to human health or the environment. Additionally, we strive to make greater use of natural control measures (such as fly traps and adhesive papers).
In our chemical storage areas, all shelving systems are equipped with spill containment trays to ensure safe storage and prevent leakage.
ENERGY MANAGEMENT
One of the most important steps toward sustainability is ensuring energy efficiency. First, energy consumption must be measured in order to identify problems and determine potential areas for savings. Low-consumption equipment and systems should be preferred. Long-term improvements should be achieved through automation management and monitoring tools. Energy savings must be continuously analyzed through maintenance, supervision, and monitoring activities.
ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION
We aim to ensure that all electronic equipment we purchase is energy-efficient and that all employees receive training on energy conservation.
The following energy-saving practices are implemented and continuously maintained in our hotels:
WATER CONSUMPTION
Due to daily activities, swimming pools, and various living areas, water consumption in our facility is significant. Therefore, efficient water use and effective monitoring are of great importance to us.
Without compromising health, hygiene, and guest satisfaction, we use water-saving equipment to reduce overall water consumption; we place water-saving information cards in guest rooms and provide regular training to our employees on this matter.
The following water-saving practices are implemented and continuously maintained in our hotel:
PROTECTION OF NATURAL LIFE
As a hotel group operating globally, we are aware that we can set an example for people of different nationalities and cultures and encourage them to participate in our sustainability efforts.
Some of the plant and animal species living in our hotel garden and surrounding areas include:
ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION BOARD
An environmental information board is available at our facility to raise awareness among our guests about endangered species found in the region.
As ASKA Hotels, we are aware that being part of a community means upholding shared values. We recognize our social responsibilities and organize voluntary community activities throughout the year with the participation of our employees and local residents.
Career Management
In line with the vision and mission of ASKA Hotels, individuals who are hardworking, honest, guest-oriented, committed to personal goals, and open to development are always welcome to join our team.
We aim to support our human resources through continuous training and professional development, enhancing the knowledge and skills of our employees. We believe that by supporting talented young individuals who aspire to build careers in the tourism and hospitality sector, we can achieve even greater success together.
Support for Non-Governmental Organizations
Additionally, in 2023, we proudly hosted the “Climate-Friendly Tourism Summit,” organized with the support of the Akdeniz Turistik Otelciler ve İşletmeciler Birliği (AKTOB) and the Orange Flag initiative, free of charge.
Our spa area features a traditional Turkish Bath, offering guests an authentic experience of this cultural heritage.
THE IMPORTANCE OF PRESERVING HISTORICAL ARTIFACTS
Historical artifacts are among the most valuable assets that reflect the past of a society or country, showcasing its culture and civilization in the present day. A nation without a history is destined to disappear; therefore, historical artifacts represent the most significant heritage of cultures, civilizations, and nations.
Protecting historical artifacts is crucial for preserving a nation’s culture. These artifacts reflect a society’s values and illuminate its past, making their protection a shared responsibility. Each individual must fulfill their duty by safeguarding historical objects and remaining vigilant against theft or illicit trafficking. Citizens should report any such incidents to the relevant government authorities.
